The Amber Flag

Flag Raising

The Amber Flag is a programme focussing on Well-Being and Positive Mental Health.  It is run by Pieta House.  It is about promoting positive mental health and well-being and to raise awareness. The children in Ballycroneen are working towards the Amber Flag this year (2022-2023).

Firstly, a committee of children was setup from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. The committee meet every Friday to discuss the different events and share ideas supporting well-being in the school. We have also established an Amber Flag noticeboard to display the different events that are happening and some positive affirmations too.

Bake Sale and Beach Walk in aid of Pieta House

We had a very successful Bake Sale and Sponsored Beach Walk in the school to raise funds for Pieta House. Luckily the weather was on our side and we had a fabulous walk to the beach where we created well-being posters using materials we could find at the beach. We had great fun as you can see from our pictures.
