We had great fun in the lead up to the mid-term break as the children took part in a variety of activities to celebrate autumn and Halloween. The children took part in Halloween stations which included baking, Art, P.E. and Halloween coding activities. They also took part in a fashion show, sang songs and performed a variety of poems at our October assembly.
Our very supportive Parents' Association also organised our Pumpkin Pod fundraiser where the winner won a fangtastic hamper and a large pumpkin 🎃
Well done to Abby, Rhys & Alex for winning the best costume award at our Halloween Assemby
All classes perform songs & poems at assembly
6th class enjoyed some pumpkin carving this week. Some very creative and scary pumpkins were carved in school!
All classes took part in baking and made some scary Halloween rice crispy buns and some tasty pumpkin cakes!
The children enjoyed various Halloween games such as Candy Toss, Halloween Musical Statues, Pumpkin Toss & the Witches Cauldron.
All classes created various art pieces including haunted house silhouettes and pumpkin scenes. The children painted their backgrounds first and then added various items for a spooky effect!
We celebrated Code Week using the theme of Halloween. Junior Infants to Second Class enjoyed using the Beebots, 3rd & 4th classes created a flying witch and accompanying witch mobile using our Lego kits and 5th & 6th classes used our Microbits to code Halloween faces and messages.
