SEAI Sustainable Energy Workshop

Infant classes learned that our energy in our body comes from the sun's energy! We created an energy chain to show how energy from the sun ends up in the food we eat! We also discovered different types of energy, such as sound and kinetic energy. We then finished up discussing ways we could conserve our energy use at home and school.  

1st-6th classes focused on where the energy we use comes from. We discussed fossil fuels and green, renewable energy sources. Students learned about the relationship between fossil fuels and climate change, and the effect this is having on us in Ireland, as well as worldwide impacts. Students discussed ways we could reduce our carbon emissions. 

Students then learned about some simple laws of physics through experiments, while also learning about various types of energy. We finished up with an interactive floor game where teams got to show off what they had learned throughout the workshop!
